I'm torn....

Well, it's usually around this time that i'm gearing up for San Diego Comic-Con...

Let us recap my last 2 years of Comic-Con:

2006: Crazy ass stuff. I got to meet a bunch of [adult swim] personalities for the first time, hang out with a couple of them, and have a blast with some friends (and former acquaintances)

2007: Pretty much myself for the most part (no one else really went aside from BeanTroll who showed up on Friday.) Mega64 had a theater showing.... that was pretty fun. But no [as]. Was pretty much me in a hotel by myself eating corndogs. x_x

I swore after last year that I wouldn't be going to SDCC 08 unless I knew [as] was going for sure.... well, they are (according to Jackson Publick's LiveJournal.) I'm not entirely sure it's still worth going this year, though... let me lay down the pros and cons of going:

Pros:

  • Visiting my sister and family in Cali the week before.
  • [adult swim] panel, booth, etc.
  • Mega64 (hopefully Version 3 DVD and/or another theater screening)
  • Hopefully getting in another "Super-Secret [as] Drinking Conference."
  • Seeing and buying fun stuff

Cons:

  • Money (hotel, Comic-Con, etc.) x_x
  • Doesn't look like anyone is really going again this year.
  • The crowds... and in essence, missing panels i'd want to see (like I did with a couple of them last year.)
  • Sitting in my hotel room eating corndogs and drinking Mike's Hard Lemonade. x_x

I think the main thing i'm conflicted with is... if I don't go to Comic-Con, i'll have more money saved... and with that money i'll be able to make for a better trip out to Atlanta this year for Dragon*Con (which IMHO was 100 times better than Comic-Con)

We shall see.
